Fibroids are noncancerous growths that occur in the muscular wall of the uterus (the womb). They are common in fertile women and cause pelvic pain, abnormal uterine bleeding, urinary tract problems and bowel symptoms. Fibroids usually do not lead to serious health problems. But they can affect fertility and pregnancy. Women with symptomatic fibroids should be evaluated regularly by their doctor.

Fibroid treatment depends on the type and size of a fibroid, how severe the symptoms are and whether you want to have children in the future. Several procedures are available to treat fibroids. They include taking medication, surgical removal of the uterus (hysterectomy) or medically treating the fibroid using heat or energy. Some fibroid treatments can reduce menstrual bleeding and other symptoms. Other therapies can help prevent recurrence of fibroid-related symptoms.자궁근종한약

Uterine fibroids are very common and affect 20 to 30 percent of all women. Most uterine fibroids are benign (not cancerous). But some can be cancerous (leiomyosarcoma), which is less than 1 in 1,000 cases. Fibroids can increase the risk of a miscarriage or preterm birth. They can also increase a woman’s chances of having an ectopic pregnancy, which is when the fetus develops outside the uterus.

If you have a uterine myoma, talk to your doctor about what your treatment options are. If you decide to wait, your doctor may suggest monitoring your uterus for signs of fibroid growth. If you have mild to moderate symptoms, your doctor may suggest surgery or hormone therapy if you do not want to have children in the future. Some women with uterine fibroids do not have any symptoms and can be treated only with medicines.

Alternative treatments for uterine fibroids include following a healthy diet, magnet therapy, black cohosh or herbal preparations. But there is no scientific evidence that these treatments work.

A uterine myoma oriental clinic can help you manage your uterine fibroids and relieve the symptoms they cause. A fibroid can be diagnosed with an ultrasound test, called an echocardiogram or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). MRI is more expensive than an ultrasound but provides doctors with a clearer picture of the uterus and fibroid.자궁선긍증한의원

Other types of surgery to remove a uterine fibroid are abdominal myomectomy and radiofrequency ablation. During abdominal myomectomy, your doctor makes small cuts in the stomach area (also called the abdomen). Your doctor can remove one or more uterine fibroids through these cuts or by making a smaller cut through the cervix (called a transvaginal procedure). This is a good option if you want to have children in the future. However, the surgery can lead to scarring of the ovaries, which decreases your chance of being able to have children in the future. You can have a hysterectomy, which removes the uterus, if you do not want to have children.
